Where are Sharqiya Sands?
Sharqiya Sands extend across eastern Oman, with Bidiyah in North Al Sharqiyah serving as a well-known gateway.
Desert camps and activities are spread across different access points, so typing “Wahiba Sands” into a map does not necessarily take you to the right meeting point.

Do you need a 4×4?
It depends on where you are going.
Some meeting points can be approached on paved or firm gravel roads. Other locations deeper in the desert require a suitable 4×4 and sand-driving experience.
If you are in a normal car, do not enter soft sand simply because the destination looks close on the map.
