Take the wheel of a two-seat off-road vehicle and follow your FOXATVs guide through rocky tracks, open ground and natural climbs in Wadi Al Rak. We introduce you to the vehicle and explain the route rules before you set off. Then the driving — and the adventure — is yours.

A real off-road drive includes bumps, slopes and changing surfaces. Your guide may adjust the route, pace or photo stops to suit conditions.

What should I bring?
Closed, comfortable shoes. Comfortable outdoor clothing. Clothes you do not mind getting dusty. Sunscreen. Sunglasses. A charged phone or camera for photo stops. Identification if requested for check-in.

The experience is not suitable for
- Pregnant guests.
- Guests with heart conditions.
- Guests with respiratory conditions.
- Guests with pre-existing medical conditions that may be affected by rough movement.
- Guests above 127 kg where the vehicle or safety equipment cannot be used safely.

Helmets and seat belts must be used while driving. Maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead. Do not overtake the guide or other vehicles. Do not use your phone while driving. Racing, reckless driving and unauthorised drifting are not permitted. Follow the guide’s instructions when stopping or changing route. The guide may adjust pace or route according to trail conditions and the group’s ability.

Do I drive the vehicle myself?
Yes. This is a guided self-drive adventure. You drive your own vehicle while the guide leads and supports the group.
Do I need previous experience?
No. First-time drivers are welcome and receive practical instruction before departure.
Do I need a driving licence?
No driving licence is required for the Wadi Al Rak adventure.
How long do I drive?
The driving time is one hour.
Should I arrive early?
Yes. Please arrive 30 minutes before departure for check-in, equipment and briefing.
How many people fit in one vehicle?
The currently advertised options are based on two-seat vehicles.
Is the price per person or per vehicle?
The OMR 35, 45 and 60 options are per two-seat vehicle, not per person.
Can I book if I am travelling alone?
Yes. You can book and drive the vehicle on your own.
Is transport from Muscat included?
No. Transport is not included in the base price. Contact us if you need help planning your arrival.
Can children join?
The activity is not suitable for children under seven. Passengers must be able to sit safely and use the seat belt and required safety equipment correctly.
Does the adventure operate year-round?
Yes, the experience is offered year-round, subject to weather, route and operational conditions.
What happens if trail conditions change?
The guide may adjust the route, pace or stops to maintain safety and preserve the quality of the experience.
Do I need insurance for this adventure?
Personal travel insurance is strongly recommended for this adventure. Suitable cover is required for any full-day or multi-day adventure or programme. FOX ATVs does not provide or include it; you arrange and pay for your own policy. Before booking, obtain written confirmation that it covers Oman, emergency medical care, medical evacuation and repatriation, and this guided self-drive wadi and rocky-trail adventure in a buggy, UTV or SSV, as allocated, for your role as driver or passenger. Standard policies may exclude these activities. Do not assume vehicle damage or your obligations under the Terms and Waiver are covered.
